“ I am in the northern Kentucky area for work travels because the company I work for opened a new location nearby and I’ve been sent to assist in its operation. A lot of the locals that have shopped at the grocery store I was working at have strongly recommended I tried 859 Taphouse. Since it was so highly regarded I went to check it out and of course experience and support a local small business. The atmosphere was cool, the food was amazing, the service was incredible. I even ordered something for take out back to my hotel. (It was all being covered by my employer anyways so why not enjoy myself). I would gladly return to this area for work or any reason to stop back here again. ”
“ What a great place to find! Great staff first of all. Our server was very nice and took care of us. Then my fiancee mentioned that the staff looked happy doing their jobs, so kudos to the owner. Must be doing something right. Next is the food. Menu is very temping because of the great choices. We had to try the wings as a starter. Perfect . I had the Rise and Shine Burger with fries, and it didn't disappoint. The lady had the Beer Battered Fish Sandwich and slaw. Delicious! Lots of beer on tap. Take a minute to look at the beer menu and decide. We tried some that we would have never tried before, and they were great. We loved the place and will be going back real soon to try other choices. ”
“ This place has countless beer taps. The atmosphere was good. During my visit the bar was quiet, but you can tell on game nights that this place would be busy. The menu for the beer options was laid out very well, the beers are placed in sections on the menu by flavor profile. Very nice I would definitely revisit. ”
“ Hush Puppies! I only had appetizers, but the stand out was the hush puppies, like go there and try them seriously so good. A really nice selection of brews on tap from the area broken out nicely, with no shortage of something delicious to try. The wait staff was on top of it and the kitchen sends out food faster than a politician changes their mind. Brunch until 2, with pancake bites, eggs etc. Outside seating is smaller than it looks but overall a really nice place. I'll have to try more meals to really decide. ”
“ 859 has the best Old Fashioned around, food is good too. Stopped back in 859. Super busy but we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Waitress was there immediately. Ordered the pretzel bites. Brought out with our drinks and thought that was fast but they were piping hot and fresh, excellent choice. Chicken Cesar salad was good, chicken had good flavor and not bland. Shared some mozzarella bites and boneless bourbon wings and all were delicious. They do have one of the best bourbon sauces that we've come across. Always ask for extra, it's that good. Waitress was on top of her game and took good care of everyone she was serving. It can get a little loud but it us worth the great Old Fashioneds and the good food. A must try! ”
“ Our first time here and we really enjoyed it! I absolutely love that it’s dog friendly as well! The cocktails are low priced and the food was excellent! My husband had the Caribbean jerk chicken tacos. I had the 859 Bourbon glazed burger. In the glaze, you could actually get the notes/ taste of bourbon! Both meals though were yummy! We also had an appetizer of the dynamite shrimp. Also, super fantastic! Service was fantastic as well! We plan to be back very soon; and recommend to all! ”
“ Found 859 while I was in town for work over the holidays, and it quickly became my favorite spot! The food is phenomenal (highly recommend the shrimp tacos, potato skillet, and funnel cake fries), the service is top notch (you can find the owners Jeff and Mandy helping out regularly), and they always have sports on and the best music! I couldn’t recommend this place enough. ”
“ We had dinner here on Valentine’s Day and it was busy. Despite being busy, we had generally good service. Food was fresh and hot. The place was cleanly. The tables are pretty packed in together so it can feel a little cramped. The drinks were a little more heavy handed than expected. Boyfriend is from Indiana, so he of course had to try the Hoosier Pork tenderloin. It wasn’t up to par size wise of what he is use to back home, but said it was good still. The Nashville Hot Honey sandwich was good, not too spicy which good for me. The onion straws were extra yummy. There is a wide variety of drinks, so it can be a little overwhelming to pick. I love how much Kentucky representation this place offers and they say they’re dog friendly which is super cool too! ”
